Eat better,
together.

A shared food diary for two people. Photograph what you eat, let it count the calories, and see each other’s day without asking.

The home screen: both of your days, side by side.

Photograph it, that is the whole step

Snap up to five photos of the plate. NearU reads them together and breaks the meal into rice, main, sides, sambal, and the drink you forgot to mention. Every number stays editable, because it is a guess and it says so.

One feed, both of you

Nothing is private between you two. Their lunch shows up next to yours, with the time it happened in their time zone, not yours. You can see everything and change nothing that is not yours.

A target that came from your own body

Answer six questions and NearU works out a daily calorie target from your height, weight, age, and how much you actually move. Or ignore all of it and type the number you already trust.

Steps, workouts, places, moments

Apple Health sends your steps over each night. Workouts get an estimated burn from duration and effort. Check in where you are eating, and keep the photos of the two of you in a gallery that has nothing to do with calories.

What it is not

  • Not a coach. It never tells you a meal was a bad idea; it reports what you ate and stops.
  • Not a social network. It holds exactly two people, and there is no one else to perform for.
  • Not a scale. The calorie numbers are estimates from a photograph, and they are wrong sometimes. They are close enough to notice a pattern, which is the point.

It works better when both of you are in it.
